In bits 20 through 23 of the programme status word (PSW), a 4-bit structure that controls whether each of the fixed-point overflow, decimal overflow, exponent-overflow, and significance exceptions should cause a programme interruption. The bits of the programme mask can be manipulated to enable or disable the occurrence of a programme interruption.
