Asset

(1) A digital multimedia resource that is stored for later retrieval as requested by an application. An example of such a resource is a digitised video or audio file. An asset is stored as a file in a multimedia file system supported by the data pump.
(2) In the Reusable Asset Specification (RAS), a collection of related artefacts packaged to provide solutions to a recurring problem, along with the supporting files to understand and apply the asset.
(3) A collection of artefacts that provide a solution to a specific business problem. Assets can have relationships and variability or extension points to other assets.
