Address space

(1) The range of addresses available to a computer programme or process. Address space can refer to physical storage, virtual storage, or both. See also allied address space, buffer pool, virtual address space.
(2) A range of up to two gigabytes of contiguous virtual storage addresses that the system creates for the user. See also data space.
