Redundant Array of Independent discs (RAID)
A collection of two or more physical disc drives that present to the host an image of one or more logical disc drives. In the event of a physical device failure, the data can be read or regenerated from the other disc drives in the array due to data redundancy. See also device parity protection, Serial Storage Architecture, array.
