An IEEE-standards number that identifies an organisation with a 24-bit, globally unique, assigned number referenced by various standards. The OUI is used as part of the worldwide ID (WWID) in the family of 802 LAN standards, such as Ethernet and token ring, and in Fibre Channel standards.
