An L2TP access concentrator (LAC)-L2TP network server (LNS) pair. A tunnel carries Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) datagrams between the LAC and the LNS. There may be many sessions in a single tunnel. A control connexion that operates in the tunnel controls the establishment, release, and maintenance of sessions and the tunnel itself.
