Pragma

(1) A standardised form of comment which has meaning to a compiler. A pragma usually conveys non-essential information, often intended to help the compiler to optimise the program. See also directive.
(2) A preprocessor directive that is not specified by the ISO standard. Pragmas often control actions of the compiler and linker. A pragma always begins with a number sign (#).
