The ESA/390 term for the identifier that uniquely identifies a given logical partition (LPAR). The path-group identifier is used in communication between the LPAR programme and a device. It associates the path-group identifier with one or more channel paths, thereby defining these paths to the control unit as being associated with the same LPAR.
