The ratio of the sum of the traffic that is on the initiator network-device connexions to the traffic that is on the most heavily loaded Inter-Switch Links (ISLs), where more than one ISL is connected in parallel between these switches. The concept of oversubscription assumes a symmetrical network and a specific workload that is applied equally from all initiators and sent equally to all targets. See also symmetrical network.
