In SNA management services (SNA/MS), alert information that is encoded such that it conveys to the receiver the set of screens that should be displayed for the network operator when the alert is received. The use of nongeneric alerts requires that the receiver recognise and understand each unique problem for which an alert is sent. See also generic alert.
