A region on the surface of the Earth that has boundaries with neighbouring regions. The boundaries are defined by the geodesic distances between the centre point of the Voronoi cell and the centre points of its neighbors. A Voronoi cell consists of all points that are closer to the centre of the Voronoi cell than to the centre of any other Voronoi cell.
