SCSI back-end layer

The layer in a Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) network that performs the following functions: controls access to individual disc controller systems that are managed by the cluster; receives requests from the virtualization layer, processes them, and sends them to managed disks; and addresses SCSI-3 commands to the disc controller systems on the storage area network.
