A unit or collection of data, contained in a file or sandboxing, that can be operated on by an application. In Search Kit, anything that contains text and that the Search Kit client application addresses as a document—an RTF document, a PDF file, a Mail message, an Address Book entry, the contents at an Internet URL, the result of a database query, and so on.
