streptothricosis
An acute or chronic infection of the epidermis, caused by the bacterium Dermatophilus congolensis, which results in an oozing dermatitis with scab formation. Streptothricosis includes dermatophilosis, mycotic dermatitis, lumpy wool, strawberry foot-rot, and cutaneous streptothricosis, diseases having a worldwide distribution and affecting a wide variety of species, including humans.
