proteome
1) The protein complement of an organism coded for by its genome.
2) In its most basic sense the term proteome refer to the total protein-encoding capability of an organism's genome. In use it is also used to refer to the actual total expressed protein complement of an organism or to the identifiable proteins of a single tissue or cell type or subcellular compartment.
3) The Proteome is the protein complement expressed by a genome. While the genome is static, the proteome continually changes in response to external and internal events.
