A numerical value indicating the relation between a change in temperature and a simultaneous change in some other property (e.g., solubility). Specif., the factor a in the equation Rt= R0(1 at), in which Rtequals the resistance of a conductor at t degrees C, and R 0equals its resistance at 0 degrees C.
