halloysite
A clay mineral similar in structure to kaolinite, having a 1:1 structure in which a silica tetrahedral sheet is joined to an alumina octahedral sheet. Unlike kaolinite, however, the structure is disordered in both the a and the b axis directions in successive layers, and it frequently contains water between the layers.
