four-dimensional positron emission tomography

A series of PET images acquired at different phases (times) in the respiratory cycle. When combined with four-dimensional computed tomography (4D PET/CT), the scan captures the movement and deformation of the metabolically active target as well as the surrounding organs as a function of the respiratory phase. See also 4D CT.
