The story on tea and religion
Someone believe that the tea plant is not indigenous to China, and is said it have been brought to China by Da Mo-Bodhidharma, in the 6th century and by the 9th century it was in general use as a national drink. Da Mo was a prince of southern Tianzhu(present India). It is recorded once when he sat in meditation, sleep overcame him; and on waking, he cut off his eyelids. But they fell on the earth, took root, and sprouted; and the plant that grew was the first of all tea plants-the symbol of eternal wakefulness.
