Marcelo Vieira da Silva Júnior (born 12 May 1988), commonly known as Marcelo, is a Brazilian footballer who plays for Real Madrid and the Brazilian national team.

In the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Marcelo scored an own-goal in the 11th minute during the opening game against Croatia - the first goal of the tournament. Brazil later went on to win 3-1.
