Iron Curtain
The term was used to describe the activities of the USSR in the Eastern part of Europe and to warn against the spread of the socialist communism. This Term originated from Sir Winston Churchill's famous speech 'The Sinews of Peace' at the Westminster College in the small town of Missouri, Fulton on march 5 1946. He said in his speech 'From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic, an iron curtain has descended across the continent'.
