6 degree of freedom

The ability to provide rigid-body positioning in three-dimensional space. In the context of radiotherapy, 6 Degree of Freedom typically refers to corrective positioning of a target volume usually, but not necessarily, about the isocenter.   The value is normally expressed in Cartesian coordinates in terms of translations along the X, Y, and Z axes, and rotations about those axes as pitch, roll, and yaw, respectively.
