A professional who conducts auditing (counseling) sessions designed to guide clients to emotional well-being by relieving clients from effects of past experiences. Responsibilities include:

• Questions client according to prescribed procedures while client is in contact with E-meter (electrometer).
• Listens to client's responses to questioning and observes indicator needle on meter.
• Interprets movement of needle to determine effectiveness of auditing, utilizing knowledge of dianetic auditing practice.
• Compiles notes on client responses during session.
• May be known by titles which reflect various levels of proficiency and responsibility in Scientology organization.
