1) En heteropolysaccharide, der ligner i struktur heparin. Det akkumuleres i individer med mucopolysaccharidosis.

2) lignende heparin, men med nogle L-iduronic syre rester.

3) Heparitin Sulfate. A glycosaminoglycan, strukturelt lignende heparin, men med flere N-acetyl-grupper og færre O og N sulfate grupper. Occurs i leveren, blodtryk og lungefunktion. Accumulates i flere mucopolysaccharidoses.
