A designation that defines a node according to the data that the node contains. The XQuery and XPath data model defines the following node kinds: document, element, attribute, text, processing instruction, and comment. See also node, processing instruction.
Industry:Software
A connexion between two High-Performance Routing (HPR) nodes that may traverse one or more intermediate HPR nodes and links. The connexion endpoints provide error recovery and adaptive rate-based flow control for the connexion traffic, and nondisruptive switching of the underlying physical path in the case of route outage. The intermediate HPR nodes minimise their routing overhead using automatic network routing (ANR) protocols, which rely on header information to permit efficient source routing and prioritised transmission along the RTP connection.
Industry:Software
A data set allocated and accessed using one of the following methods: basic direct access method (BDAM), basic partitioned access method (BPAM), basic indexed sequential access method (BISAM), basic sequential access method (BSAM), queued sequential access method (QSAM), or queued indexed sequential access method (QISAM).
Industry:Software
A designation that determines who can access a particular file and how the user can access the file.
Industry:Software
A connexion between two nodes created by either a JES2 initialization or an operator command.
Industry:Software
A data set attribute that is defined in distributed data management (DDM). Examples of associated DDM attributes are file size, lock options, and end-of-file offset for byte-stream files. Associated DDM attributes are not necessarily exclusive to DDM; they also can be used by other applications that access the same data sets.
Industry:Software
A desktop environment that is built on open source ideals that prides itself on being free, user-friendly, widely accessible, standardized, developer-friendly, well-formed and well-supported.
Industry:Software
A connexion between two systems where no data is transferred.
Industry:Software
A data set containing log records that reflect completed operations and are not yet written to an online log data set. See also system log data set.
Industry:Software
A destination identifier specifying a symbolic name that represents a destination. See also destination identifier, explicit destination.
