Apple Inc., formerly Apple Computer, Inc., is an American multinational corporation headquartered in Cupertino, California, that designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software and personal computers.
A digital audio transport standard defined by the Audio Engineering Society, originally published in 1992. Also called the AES/EBU interface. Equivalent to IEC 60958 Part 4. The AES-3 standard includes parts for various physical connexions including balanced twisted-pair wire, unbalanced coaxial cable, and optical fiber. The technical inspiration for AES-3 was the S/PDIF standard.
